We’ve received an application to vary an environmental permit from Resources Management UK Ltd. 

Variation application to an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016

Regulated facility type: Installation - Section 5.2 Part A(1) (a) , The disposal of waste in a landfill – (i) receiving more than 10 tonnes of waste in any day, or (ii) with a total capacity of more than 25,000 tonnes, but excluding disposals in a landfill taking only inert waste.

Resources Management UK Ltd have applied to vary their existing permit, permit number EPR/MP3330WP. Proposed changes include:

• Revised pre-settlement restoration contours 
• Modified management and monitoring program for groundwater, surface water and leachate 
• The addition of 50,000 tonnes of waste soils for restoration under a new Waste Recovery activity 
• Consolidation and modernisation the permit, including a review of existing Improvement Conditions and Pre-Operational Conditions

The application contains a description of how the proposed changes will affect the installation; the materials, substances and energy it will use and generate; the conditions of its site; the source, nature and quantity of its foreseeable emissions and their potential impact, the proposed techniques for preventing, reducing, and monitoring its emissions and preventing and recovering waste; and an outline of the main alternatives, if any, considered.
