Apply for a band 2 marine licence

Who this service is for

This service is for applicants who:

• know their activity qualifies for band 2
• are ready to submit and pay for their application

Before you start

You will need:

• to prepare your band 2 application
  
  

Charges

You will need to pay £1,920 after you submit the application.

You can pay by:

• debit or credit card
• bank transfer

Your application will not be assessed until payment is received.

If we need to use an external consultant to assess your application, we will tell you before we do and send you a separate invoice for the cost.

What happens after you apply

We will:

• review your application to check it's complete
• contact you if we need more information
• confirm by email when we have everything we need to assess it

You will usually get a decision within 18 weeks.

The 18-week period starts from when we confirm your application is complete. It may not start on the day you submit it.

We may carry out an early review of your proposed approach, called a 'fitness check'. We will contact you about this if needed.

If your files are too big to attach, email to let us know. We will then tell you what to do next.
