This is an application for granting a new derogation under article 15 (4) of the industrial emissions directive on  the best available technique (BAT) conclusion BAT 52 and associated emission limit to reduce emissions of non-methane volatile organic compound and benzene from the loading and unloading operations on the sea going ships at the berths on the site’s jetty.

We are minded to grant the permit variation for the derogation to 2034.  We will only grant a derogation if we believe that significant pollution will not be caused and the operator has the ability to meet the conditions of the permit. Any permit we grant will include appropriate conditions to protect human health and the environment.
