Cronfeydd Gwydir Reservoirs

Announcement of intention not to prepare an environmental statement - (Regulation 12B of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land drainage improvement works) (Amendment) Regulations) 2017/585

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to four reservoirs within the Gwydir Forest. The reservoirs are Llyn Goddionduoun (SH752 583), Llyn Tynymynydd (SH767 589), Cyfty Reservoir (SH773 590) and Llyn Sarnau (SH779 589). The proposed improvement works will involve the following: construction of new reservoir spillways, embankment repairs, embankment raising, improvements to access routes, eel passage provision, telemetry installations.

Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Although an environmental statement is not proposed, the scheme design has considered environmental factors associated with the site and incorporated environmental improvements where feasible. The scheme design can viewed from the Natural Resources Wales Gwydyr Office, Gwydyr Uchaf, Llanrwst, Gwynedd, LL26 0PN, during the hours of 10:00rs – 16:00 Monday to Thursday. 

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
