Announcement of intention not to prepare an environmental statement
Aberbeeg, Woodland Terrace Flood Risk Management
Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the Ebbw Fach in Aberbeeg, Blaenau Gwent alongside the lane behind Woodland Terrace between (NGR SO 21199 02249) and (NGR SO 21135 02176). The proposed works will involve the improvement of an existing 110m flood defence through the provision of a new flood wall within the footprint of the existing defence and a mass concrete base in the edge of the watercourse. All works will be carried out only on the northern bank of the River Ebbw Fach.
Natural Resources Wales have undertaken an environmental appraisal and consider that the proposed works are not likely to have a significant effect on the environment and does not, therefore, intend to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of the works. However, in accordance with good environmental practice an Environmental Action Plan will be prepared to ensure any environmental risk associated with the works are appropriately managed.
Any person or body who wishes to make representations to Natural Resources Wales in relation to the likely environmental impact of the proposed works, must do so in writing to the offices of Natural Resources Wales at the address below within 28 days of the publication of this notice.
