What we're doing?

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the Severn Estuary near Magor and Undy between NGR ST438848 and NGR ST453858, a distance of1.95 kilometres.

The proposed improvement works will involve the the raising of the 1.95km section of existing earth embankment to a height of 9.41m AOD to enhance coastal flood protection.

Environmental impact

Natural Resources Wales has determined that the works are likely to have significant effects on the environment and intends to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of them. This will be published, advertised and made available for inspection in due course.

An Environmental Scoping Report, Preliminary Ecological Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening have been produced, which detail the potential environmental effects from the scheme.
