The role
We’re looking for a motivated and practical individual to join our North West Waste Regulations & Enforcement Team. As a Waste Regulations Officer, you’ll be on the front line of environmental protection — regulating waste sites, responding to incidents, and helping to ensure Wales’ natural resources are protected for future generations.
You’ll play a hands-on role in monitoring compliance, investigating illegal activities, and taking action where it’s needed most. Using NRW’s Regulatory Principles, you’ll help drive real change — ensuring businesses meet their environmental responsibilities and that our communities and ecosystems remain safe and healthy.
This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. From responding to environmental reports and carrying out site inspections to contributing to enhancement projects and advising on technical issues — you’ll need strong organisation, great people skills, and a passion for protecting the natural world.
For informal enquiries, please contact Nia Brunning at Nia.Brunning@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk
Interviews will be held on Microsoft Teams.
Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
