Use this search tool to find the designation documents related to different types of protected areas of land and sea.

What are ‘designated sites’?

Areas of land and seas can be ‘designated’, which means they have special status as protected areas because of their natural and cultural importance.

How to search for documents and maps for designated sites

If you know the name of site and want to know more about it, you can search for it by typing all or part of the name.

If you select a county, all the sites within that county will be displayed.

You can also search against multiple counties and designation types by holding down the control key [Ctrl] on your keyboard and selecting them with your mouse.

Clicking on any location in the search result will expand the selection to list available links to documents, maps and other resources.

We are currently updating this search tool to include additional documents across all locations and designations.

If a document is not available for a site, please Contact us.
