The ideal place to find out more about the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Loggerheads Country Park is the gateway to the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The country park sits below the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Alyn Valley where the river enters steep wooded gorges and open and secluded grasslands.
The lovely limestone scenery has inspired artists and attracted large numbers of visitors for generations.
There are two short circular trails within the park and a network of waymarked footpaths radiate from out from it. Two of these walking trails are on land managed by Natural Resources Wales.
The Clwydian Range Centre next to the car park in Loggerheads Country Park is an ideal place to find out more about the Clwydian Range AONB and get a walking guide or map.
There is also a café, shop and picnic area.

The Clwydian Range Centre and Loggerheads Country Park are in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) near Mold.
An AONB is an area of countryside in England, Wales or Northern Ireland which has been designated for conservation due to its significant landscape value.
The primary purpose of the AONB designation is to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area, now and for future generations.
The Clwydian Range is one of only eight AONBs in Wales.
Natural Resources Wales looks after a number of woodlands and forests in the Clwydian Range AONB.
The forests and woodlands below are the starting points for waymarked trails for walkers and bridleways for horse riders and cyclists to explore the magnificent scenery:
Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail runs the length of the Clwydian Range AONB.
All of the walking trails are waymarked and start from the Loggerheads Country Park car park.

The Loggerheads Link Trail is a linear route from Loggerheads Country Park to Coed Moel Famau.
6 miles, 10 kilometres
The Loggerheads – Moel Famau Circular Trail is a varied walk following the wooded Leete path and then climbing steadily to Moel Famau and Jubilee Tower. There is a steep return through attractive mixed forest and open countryside with great views.
The Clwydian Range Centre, toilets and café are managed by Denbighshire County Council.

The car park at Loggerheads is managed by Denbighshire County Council. There is a parking charge.
